Here's a look back at the features we added to Watershed over the last 3 months. We post an update each quarter to keep you informed about new functionality and improvements that could help your work. These updates were released since May 1, 2025.
CDP 2025
We have updated the CDP report builder for the 2025 CDP reporting period. This release includes new reporting functionality including reusable answers for climate, a forest/water questionnaire, assignments, comments, rich text editing and more. The API will also be updated in July ahead of the submission deadline. Beyond the report builder, we’ve got a collection of new reporting courses (customer access only) in the learning hub to support you and an on-demand webinar with CDP on this year’s report.
System for cross-domain identity management (SCIM)
You can now integrate your own identity management systems like Microsoft Azure, Okta, and others with Watershed so you can provision and de-provision users outside of Watershed. You can read more about how to turn on SCIM here (customer access only).
Database updates for EPA EF Hub and eGRID
We updated our database to incorporate the latest emission factors from EPA EF Hub and eGRID for all applicable methodologies.
Timeout configurations
New session timeout configuration in organization settings will enable users to customize the idle session and absolute session timeout length for users. These settings automatically end user sessions after a period of inactivity, safeguarding sensitive data and optimizing system performance. Instructions for using this functionality are here in the learning hub (customer access only).
Improvements to data ingestion
We've enhanced import functionality to reduce bugs and increase efficiency. Users can now exit the data ingestion flow while discarding files, correct validation issues from the review screen, remove all utility rows when editing, save incomplete files, and have empty utility files automatically recognized as deleted. These improvements make editing and testing easier while reducing incidents. Legacy uploads will also migrate to this streamlined system.
Streamlined measurement
In an effort to further streamline measurements, users can now close measurement projects from the list or within the project, switching them to read-only mode for easier management. The project list automatically filters to show only accessible tasks, while admin and manage measurement users continue to see all projects.
Open CEDA
This quarter, Watershed introduced Open CEDA, a free version of our renowned emissions factor database. Recommended for organizations or companies measuring for the first time. Open CEDA is offered for free under CC BY-SA license and requires attribution in the form of CEDA by Watershed. Visit OpenCeda.org to access it.
We hope you enjoy exploring these new capabilities! As always, Watershed customers can find more information and ongoing updates in the learning hub.
