Elected in November 2016 and reelected in 2020, Sen. Wiener represents District 11 (which includes San Francisco and surrounding areas) in the California State Senate. In 2023, he co-authored SB 253, known as the Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act, requiring large companies doing business in California to disclose greenhouse gas emissions.
