Welcoming Sylvie Goulard to our Policy Advisory Board

Sylvie Goulard, a new member of Watershed's Policy Advisory Board

Former member of the European Parliament (MEP) and Deputy Governor of the Banque de France Sylvie Goulard has joined the Watershed Policy Advisory Board, a group of climate policy leaders offering advice to Watershed as it helps companies navigate a fast-changing climate policy landscape.

Sylvie has had a distinguished career in financial services and sustainability regulation, as a former MEP and a former minister and regulator in France. As an MEP, Sylvie played a key role in the creation of post-financial crisis regulation. As Deputy Governor of the Banque de France , her responsibilities included leading the Network on Greening the Financial System.

Sylvie is currently Professor of Practice at Bocconi School of Management (SDA) and co-chair of the International Panel on Biodiversity credits, a Franco-British initiative, aiming at developing instruments to finance nature restoration and conservation.“Europe is leading the way on corporate sustainability and transparency, powered by new regulations like the CSRD, and demand for rigorous data from investors”, said Sylvie Goulard, Professor of Practice at Bocconi School of Management and former member of the European Parliament. “Watershed’s tools to enable companies to measure, report and act on their sustainability data will be essential as companies comply with new standards and seize the opportunities of the climate economy.”

The Watershed Policy Advisory Board is chaired by Mark Carney, the former Governor of the Bank of England and founder of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). The Board includes key architects of global climate policy at the SEC, TCFD, CDP, United Nations, and more.
