What is the CSRD?

Under the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), companies around the world will be required to report ESG data—to disclose the impact of their activities on people and the environment—with a level of scrutiny typically applied to financial data.

Reports submitted for CSRD are public—and help investors, consumers, and other stakeholders to evaluate the sustainability performance of the companies they interact with.

To prepare a CSRD report for publication, companies need to complete double materiality assessments, compile vast amounts of data across business entities, and pass an independent audit. Reporting deadlines begin soon, in early 2025—and selecting the right software partnership will be critical for accelerating CSRD reporting now, and for building a robust, long-term data foundation for sustainability and decarbonization.
